Warogong Sugarloaf Overnight Hike | Kosciuszko National Park

Found in the foothills of the Snowy Mountains and Kosciuszko National Park is the Warogong Sugarloaf, standing 940m tall (or not so) and overlooking the Tumut Valley. The 10km return walk is a treat with ever-changing scenery and vistas. The climb begins with views over Blowering Dam before descending into a valley filled with towering eucalyptus and lush ferns. After crossing Log Creek the trail winds its way up the mountain with the final climb accompanied by scribbly gum with an understory of iconic grass trees.

The Sugarloaf is a special place to spend the night, watching the sun go down over Tumut and gazing at the stars as they light up the night sky. The walk is also an enjoyable way to spend an afternoon, the entire hike can be completed in 4-5 hours.
