History
The Pack & Carry Fireplace is the original packable fire pit, dating back to the 1990s. The design of the Snow Peak Fireplace is the result of a boom in car camping which left campgrounds damaged from in-ground fires. Snow Peak's then-president, Tohru Yamai, was inspired to develop the innovative Pack & Carry Fireplace, the first of its kind. A fireplace that can be used anywhere, protects the ground, provides a sustained and controlled burn and can be combined with accessories for a personalised cooking experience. Today, the Pack & Carry Fireplace is one of Snow Peak's most popular products and continues to be made with care in Niigata, Japan.
About the Fireplace
The Snow Peak Pack & Carry Fireplace has a unique inverted pyramid design allowing it to fold flat. A high grade, 1.5mm thick stainless steel was determined to be the best for long term durability against high temperatures while still being easily transportable.
The fireplace comes in four sizes; small, medium, large and x-large. The small, medium and large sizes come with a nylon carry case. Accessories for cooking such as a base plate, grill etc can also be bought separately to fit the medium and large fireplaces. Or, the large is available as a complete starter kit (more details below).
Features:
- Structured from four triangular panels that fold into a sturdy inverted pyramid receptacle.
- Made from 1.5 mm thick stainless steel that is durable enough to withstand high temperatures while still being easy to carry.
- 316-grade stainless steel is corrosion resistant with excellent strength and toughness.
- The fireplace sits several inches off the ground so it doesn't damage the grass or leave unsightly burnt patches.
