Orvis is the go-to brand for everything, a true outfitter for people who love the outdoors, be it fishing, hunting, hiking or traveling the world. From Orvis you can get everything from a high-quality fly-fishing rod to a bed for your dog; that being said, we stock their fly-rods, not their dog beds. Orvis fly rods are known for their wide-range, quality and excellent after sales service. In Australia Orvis’ broad spectrum of rods are great utility tools to cover the wide range of fishing opportunities that we are presented with down here.

WHAT PRODUCTS DO THEY MAKE?

Orvis make everything! We stock their fly range but their holistic attitude ties in nicely to their fly range. They’re packs, terminal-tackle, rods and reels all complement each-other well, and if you're a diehard Orvis fan then you can stay on brand across the board.

WHERE ARE THEY MADE?

Orvis fly-rods are either designed or designed and made in the USA depending on the model. Orvis rod team is based in Vermont in the New England area. This stunning location allows for kilometres and kilometres of streams, rivers and lakefront for the Orvis crew to play, design and test their gear. They are a hop skip and a jump away from the salmon fishing of the Canadian east coast as well as being located perfectly to hunt down Great-Lake steelhead, Musky, pike bass and of course the beautiful, and native to Vermont, Brook Trout. Living in a place like that means that the outdoors rubs off on the Orvis team and that flows through into their fly-fishing design.

HISTORY OF THE COMPANY

Orvis has been around a long time, founded in 1856, not many other companies can claim a more than 150-year pedigree! Since they’ve were founded Orvis’ focus has been on fly fishing and wing shooting, two of the most popular past times in Vermont. They expanded into everything you could need to fish, hunt, travel or even outfit your home over the years however have always kept a solid focus on fly-fishing. Orvis also donates 5% of pre-tax profits to conservation and has raised $20 million over 25 years.
