Since their foundation in 1980 Sage have grown from a small, dedicated team in Bainbridge Island, Washington State, hand making fly-rods, to the industry leader they are today, still hand making fly-rods in Bainbridge USA; just with a larger team.

Australia has been the perfect proving ground for Sage over the years. The first proper saltwater fish on fly in Australia have often been tamed by Sage rods. The amount of power and flexibly that the Sage design ethos demands means that you’ll never run out of power when you need to push your fishing to the limit in the ever-changing Australian fly-fishing environment. Obviously, Australia is not just salt-water flyfishing, as we know here at Tom’s in the Snowy mountains! Sage was founded in trout country and have always been at home in the freshwater. In the vast fishing playground that is Australia there is a Sage rod for chasing everything from Trout to Barramundi.
