This kit has everything that two-hands can handle. The 4wt 11’3” is the perfect rod for an Australian or New Zealand Spey caster to get into the game. It’s halfway between true Spey action and a Switch rod making Spey or overhead casting a dream. This set up is a real all-rounder; the Rio Trout Spey Line that comes included and spooled onto a well-balanced Redington Run reel is very happy swinging big tail-waters like the Tumut, Goulburn or the Mitta with a light floating set up and a few submerged caddis. If you want to get deeper, you could chuck on heavier tips or even switch out the Rio Spey line to heavy intermediate Skagit head (not included) and bomb streamers down deep; with that same head you could happily catch Salmon off the beach. Finally, if you want to cover a lake edge or an estuary in the most efficient way possible, this is the perfect set up for you.
